Who we are

BoxCrisp designs and sells custom printed packaging. We are a United States company and we produce through vetted US manufacturing partners rather than our own press. Ordering from us means these terms apply between you and BoxCrisp.

Quotes

A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise on the quote itself. Prices are quoted per unit at a stated quantity, and changing the quantity changes the unit price, because most of the cost of a printed run is setup that does not scale.

The price estimator on this site is an estimate and is not a quote. It cannot see your artwork, your finish or your board grade. Nothing on the site is an offer to sell at a displayed price.

Artwork and proofs

We prepare your artwork onto the correct dieline at no charge and send a digital proof before anything is printed. You are responsible for checking that proof: spelling, your logo, your barcodes, your legally required text, and the dimensions.

Approving a proof authorises production exactly as shown. Once approved, we cannot reprint at our cost for anything that was visible on it. This is the single most expensive mistake in custom packaging, which is why we say it plainly rather than in a footnote.

You confirm that you own or are licensed to use everything you send us, and that printing it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

Colour, materials and tolerances

Printed colour varies between runs, between materials, and against what you see on a screen. Screens emit light and boxes reflect it, so a colour will never match a monitor exactly. Kraft board in particular shifts printed colours, because you are printing onto brown.

Board thickness, cut and fold positions carry a manufacturing tolerance, normally within about an eighth of an inch. Order a sample pack or fold a paper dieline before committing to a run if the fit is tight.

Quantities carry an industry standard over or under run of up to 10 percent. We bill for what is delivered.

Payment

Custom work is made to order, so a deposit is payable before production starts and the balance before shipping. The split is stated on your quote.

Prices exclude sales tax and shipping unless the quote says otherwise. If you are tax exempt, send us a valid certificate before you pay, not afterwards.

Lead times and delivery

Lead times run from proof approval, not from the date you place the order, and are estimates rather than guarantees. Production is normally 10 to 15 days depending on the format, because a flat corrugated mailer is quicker to make than a wrapped rigid box, and transit adds a few days on top.

Risk passes to you on delivery. Check the shipment when it arrives and tell us about damage or a shortage within seven days, with photographs, so we can raise it with the carrier while a claim is still possible.

Changes, cancellations and returns

You can change or cancel an order at any point before you approve the proof, and we will refund anything paid beyond work already done.

After proof approval we usually cannot cancel, because material is bought and press time is booked. If we can, we will refund what has not already been committed.

Custom printed packaging is made to your specification and cannot be resold, so it is not returnable for a change of mind. That is normal across the industry and it is not us being difficult.

If an order arrives defective, or materially different from the proof you approved, tell us and we will reprint it or refund it.

Your data

What we collect and why is set out in our privacy policy. In short: we keep your artwork and dieline on file so a reorder is a one line email, and we do not sell your details to anyone.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you approved your quote.
